The green alternative...

In our changing world where environmental issues are becoming more and more paramount.  Product re-use will become more and more important in reducing our carbon foot print.

Materials are a valuable resource and what's more so is the energy and water it takes to process raw materials.  Did you know, over 30 tonnes of waste are produced for every one tonne of product that reaches the consumer?  That is the equivalent of 30 toilet pans being thrown away for the brand new one you are thinking of using in your new bathroom.

Product designers are now being asked to consider the complete product life cycle from cradle to grave and design products that are truly sustainable. 

This is something the Victorians didn't worry about in their day.  They just engineered great sanitary ware that worked.  However, by producing great products that were built to last, unlike many modern pieces, they can often be reused today.
